My writing is a reflection of my thoughts and experiences beginning in 1999. Often, I am left with an impression of a photograph or experience that gets stronger as time passes. This, for me, is an indication of Truth. Sometimes a word or phrase will come to my consciousness that will simply not let go until I begin to commit the idea to paper.
This happened with "Chapel of Saint John" and with "Antietam Creek". When I write I am very much interested in how the words taste and feel in my mouth and on my tongue as I am working through phrases. This happened initially with these words from "Chapel...":
cries of Princes, wail of lovers, thoughts of Saints, and many others....
I´m intently desirous of creating a multi-sensory event...whether through my writing or photography. We inhabit a multi-sensory world, so it seems, for me, that it is a goal worth exploring creatively.
I offer these works not as Literature or Poetry or Philosophy, but as another facet of my photographic journey. I welcome any thoughts or discussion. Thank you for your time and your interest. |
